Building strength at a young age is essential for long-term athletic development, yet it is often overlooked. Many young athletes lack the foundational strength needed to support their performance because they have not been properly introduced to bodyweight training or basic strength exercises. As a result, they may struggle with balance, control, and overall physical development as they grow in their sport.
At Rocky FC, our Strength Training & HIIT Cardio Camp is designed to safely and effectively build strength, coordination, and endurance in young athletes. This program focuses on mastering bodyweight movements while gradually introducing light resistance training in a controlled and age-appropriate environment.
Athletes will be separated into appropriate age groups and trained using weights and resistance levels suited to their development. While each group will work at their own level, all athletes will follow the same style of workout to ensure consistency, progression, and a team-focused environment.
Participants will take part in structured workouts that include push-ups, core exercises, resistance band training, jump rope, and light weightlifting (up to 25 lbs max). Emphasis will be placed on proper technique, body control, and injury prevention to ensure each athlete develops a strong and reliable foundation.
In addition, athletes will engage in High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), which improves stamina, recovery time, and overall cardiovascular fitness. These sessions are designed to challenge athletes while teaching them how to manage effort, recover efficiently, and push their limits safely.
Our goal is to build healthy habits, confidence, and a strong understanding of body mechanics so athletes are prepared to enter more advanced training environments at the appropriate age. By the end of the program, athletes will be stronger, more conditioned, and better equipped to perform in any sport they pursue.
